Desk-day back reset

Undo a Long Day in Your Desk Chair in 5 Minutes

4.70(570 reviews)

Hours of sitting leave the lower back tight and stiff. The Habitude Back Arch uses your own body weight for a gentle, hands-free stretch on your living room floor.

  • Let gravity do the stretching: lie back for 5 to 10 minutes and your body weight gently arches the lower back. The opposite of a day spent bent forward in a chair.
  • Reach the tight muscles beside the spine: 102 rounded massage points press into the muscles on both sides of the spine. A soft foam strip keeps the spine itself cushioned.
  • Floor or chair: use it on the floor after work, or stand it upright behind your lower back on your desk chair.

A 5 to 10-minute daily stretch tool. Not for sleeping on.

Desk work

Seat cushions make the chair softer. They don't stretch a back that has been bent forward all day.

When you sit, your lower back rounds forward and the muscles beside the spine hold you up for hours. A softer cushion or a better chair changes how the seat feels, but your back still spends the whole day in the same bent shape.

The Back Arch gives your back the opposite shape for a few minutes. Lie back over it after work and let your body weight do a gentle stretch, while 102 massage points press into the tight muscles beside your spine.

How it works

Gravity Does the Work. Your Back Gets to Rest.

Sitting, standing and driving keep the lower back working all day. The Habitude Back Arch flips that around: you lie back over a firm arch and your own body weight gives the lower back a gentle, supported stretch.

No motor, no batteries, no twisting. Three simple parts do the work:

Side view of the arch
1

A Gentle Arch Stretch

The curved board lifts the lower back into a gentle arch. As you relax, your body weight lets the lower back and the front of the hips stretch open. No pulling, no forced cracking, no effort from your muscles.

2

Soft Strip for the Spine

A soft foam strip runs down the middle. The bony ridge of your spine rests on the foam, not on hard plastic, while the rest of your back stretches.

102 Massage Points

Rows of rounded points sit on both sides of the strip. They press into the long muscles that run beside the spine, so tight spots can let go while you rest.

Three Levels. Start Gentle, Go Deeper Later.

Click the arch into the base at the height you want. Every back adapts at its own pace.

Level 1: Gentle

The lowest arch. Use it for your first 1 to 2 weeks, in the morning, or when your back feels very stiff.

Level 2: Medium

A medium arch for your daily stretch, once Level 1 feels easy.

Level 3: Deep

The highest arch, for a deeper stretch. Only once the lower levels feel comfortable.

Also works upright: stand it behind your lower back on a desk chair or car seat for extra support while you sit.

The 3-step routine

5 to 10 Minutes a Day. No Tools, No Straps, No Batteries.

  1. Pick a Level and Set It Up

Click the arch into the base at Level 1. Put it on a firm surface: a carpeted floor, a rug or a yoga mat. Tip: the points feel firm at first, so lay a folded towel over the board for the first few days.

  2. Sit, Then Lie Back Slowly

Sit in front of it with the board right behind your lower back. Lean back slowly until your back rests on it, with the soft strip under your spine. Bend your knees, feet flat. Arms out to the sides or overhead.

  3. 5 to 10 Minutes, Then Roll to the Side

Breathe slowly and let your back sink in. Start with 2 to 3 minutes and build up to 10. To get up, roll onto your side, push yourself up to sitting, and pause before you stand.

Important usage rule: This is a short daily stretch tool, not something to sleep on. Use it 5 to 10 minutes per session, up to 2 times a day. If you feel sharp pain, numbness or tingling, stop and talk to your healthcare provider. Ask your doctor first if you have osteoporosis, recent back surgery, a back injury, or are pregnant.

FAQ

Questions, Answered

Is the board hard to lie on?

It is firm on purpose. A soft board would bend under your weight and could not hold the arch. The spine itself rests on a soft foam strip, and the massage points press into the muscles beside it. If the points feel too strong at first, lay a folded towel over the board. Most people get used to it within the first week.

Can I sleep on it?

No. It is a short stretch tool, not a pillow or mattress topper. Use it for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a day, then get up slowly.

Which level should I start with?

Always start on Level 1, the lowest arch. Stay there for 1 to 2 weeks until your back relaxes into it easily. Then move to Level 2 for your daily stretch. Level 3 is for a deeper stretch once the lower levels feel comfortable.

How fast will I feel something?

Many people feel the stretch and a looser lower back during their first session. Less daily stiffness usually builds over 1 to 2 weeks of daily use. Results vary from person to person.

Can I use it on a chair?

Yes. Stand it upright behind your lower back on a desk chair or car seat for extra support while you sit. For the stretch itself, use it lying down on the floor.

How much weight does it hold?

Up to 350 lb (158 kg). The board is made of sturdy plastic with a stepped base that locks the arch in place.

How do shipping and returns work?

Shipping is free on every US order. Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days and arrive in 3 to 7 business days. If you decide within 60 days of delivery that the Back Arch is not right for you, email support@habitudegoods.com and we send you our US returns address. You pay the return postage, and once it arrives back clean and in sanitary condition, we refund the full product price.

Who should not use it?

Do not use the Back Arch if you have osteoporosis, a fracture, a recent back injury or back surgery, spinal instability, an infection or inflammatory disease of the spine, or if you are pregnant, unless your healthcare provider says it is fine. If you have a back condition, ask your doctor first.
